Solar vs PoE Security Specs

Video Resolution

Edge: Amcrest 5MP PoE Outdoor Wedge Camera

The Amcrest 5MP PoE Outdoor Wedge Camera captures 5-megapixel video at 20 frames per second. This provides higher detail than the Hiseeu 8-Camera Solar 4MP System, which records at 4MP. Higher resolution helps you identify faces and license plates more clearly. The Amcrest model offers a super-wide 130-degree viewing angle. This wide field of view covers more area with a single unit. The Hiseeu system expands to 10 channels, but each camera stays at 4MP. If you need maximum pixel density for identification, the Amcrest 5MP sensor gives you a clear advantage in image sharpness.

Power Source

Edge: Hiseeu 8-Camera Solar 4MP System

Power delivery differs significantly between these two options. The Hiseeu system uses wireless solar-powered cameras with high-capacity panels. These panels provide one day of recording with just two hours of sunshine. This allows installation anywhere with sunlight, requiring no wiring. The Amcrest camera relies on Power over Ethernet (PoE) using the 802.3af standard. You must connect it to a PoE injector or switch, which is sold separately. PoE provides constant power without battery concerns. However, it requires running network cables. The Hiseeu solar option offers true wireless freedom, while the Amcrest PoE option ensures uninterrupted power via cable.

Storage Capacity

Edge: Hiseeu 8-Camera Solar 4MP System

Local storage options vary between the kits. The Hiseeu 8-Camera Solar 4MP System includes a 1TB HDD for local recording. This large capacity allows for extended footage retention without monthly fees. The Amcrest 5MP PoE camera does not include internal storage. It supports MicroSD cards up to 256GB, PC recording, or optional cloud backup. You must purchase the MicroSD card or NVR separately. The Hiseeu kit offers immediate, substantial local storage out of the box. The Amcrest system requires additional purchases to achieve comparable local storage capacity.

Night Vision Range

Edge: Amcrest 5MP PoE Outdoor Wedge Camera

Both systems offer color night vision capabilities. The Hiseeu cameras provide color night vision with a viewing range of up to 65 feet. The Amcrest PoE camera features night vision that reaches up to 98 feet. The Amcrest model covers a longer distance in low-light conditions. This extended range allows you to monitor larger perimeters effectively. The Hiseeu system focuses on color accuracy within its 65-foot range. If you need to see details further away in the dark, the Amcrest 98-foot range provides a practical advantage for wide-area surveillance.

Camera Style

Edge: Hiseeu 8-Camera Solar 4MP System

The physical design and movement capabilities differ. The Hiseeu system features pan and tilt cameras. These units offer 355-degree pan and 90-degree tilt movement. This allows you to remotely adjust the view to eliminate blind spots. The Amcrest camera is a fixed wedge style. It has a super-wide 130-degree viewing angle but no moving parts. The Hiseeu pan and tilt feature provides flexible coverage of a specific area. The Amcrest fixed lens covers a broad static zone. If you need to track movement or scan different areas, the Hiseeu moving cameras offer more versatility.

Build and Durability

Edge: Amcrest 5MP PoE Outdoor Wedge Camera

Both cameras are built for outdoor use. The Hiseeu cameras have an IP66 waterproof rating. This protects against heavy rain and dust. The Amcrest camera features an IP67 housing and IK0 protection. IP67 offers slightly higher water and dust resistance than IP66. The Amcrest also includes IK0 impact resistance, indicating a heavy-duty metal housing. This suggests better protection against physical damage. The Hiseeu casing is sturdy but lacks specific impact ratings. For harsh environments with potential physical threats or extreme weather, the Amcrest build offers superior durability specifications.

Connectivity

Edge: Tie

Network connection methods are distinct. The Hiseeu system uses dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz and 5GHz). It utilizes Wi-Fi Pro technology for stable signal transmission. This allows wireless installation without Ethernet cables. The Amcrest camera uses PoE for both power and data. It requires a wired connection to your network. PoE generally offers more stable and consistent bandwidth than WiFi. The Hiseeu WiFi option provides installation flexibility. The Amcrest PoE option provides a reliable, high-speed wired link. If you prioritize connection stability and speed, the wired PoE connection is superior. If you need wireless ease, the Hiseeu WiFi is better.
